OC Body Study

I decided to do body studies for some of my more active characters from various projects, just to see how their design variation holds up compared to each other! 

I also wanted to take this chance to address something people ask me about really often. I have a penchant for mixing traditionally masculine traits into non-male characters, and everyone wonders if that’s my “key” to androgyny. Honestly I can’t say what is or isn’t androgynous and/or what specifically defines it. I mix and match traditionally-gendered features into all my characters to the point where I just like to look at them as individuals. I think that’s the best way to go about it
Probably not all the characters here are considered androgynous, but they were included because everyone pictured has been called “too manly” or “not feminine enough” for various features before. Sometimes it’s the point, sometimes it surprises me and I think people are too close-minded. But ultimately to me, it goes to show that gender– and therefore androgyny itself– is a nebulous boundary
