The world map was drawn by Giant explorers. The Southern Giant Empire is the most powerful nation of the world, holding the most political authority than any other race. The entire south is united under their rule, while the rest of the world is greatly effected by their trade and influence. The compass, therefore, points South.
The oceans surrounding the various continents are unexplored, often believed to be the end of the world.
This map doesn't include any city names yet, and I may draw a more comprehensive version of it in the future, so think of this like a rough guide for now.
At the moment, I'm leaning towards calling this fantasy world "The Four Realms," please let me know what you think in the comments below! (also feel free to suggest some names too, haha)
More of this world can be found here
but I started simple with big shapes and landmarks and general area proportions. even if your mountains start out looking like little "^^^^" that's okay! The point of a map is to communicate information. Once you have all your landmarks in the places you want, you can start illustrating nicer graphics
Lemme know what goes down in those Troll Isles or the Goblin District!
pretty map, awesome races... you rock!
By the way, I love what I've seen so far. Great work!
And now you make my dreams come true! T_T I wished exactly a world like this! I'm charmed and so excited about this!
Would you mind, if i write short stories based on your world idea? *-*
I hope to open up this world eventually for people to enjoy and roleplay in, so if you want to be involved, it might take a while longer before I have everything together and ready. But until then please feel free to start drafting stories or characters
I'm so happy I could fulfill that desire of yours! Thank you!
I started to develop a story about Prestan Winstally, the heir of the Myr Kingdom, who in fact doesn't have too much desire to be a king. He is influenced (and quite intimidated) by his mother, Queen Monira, who is a real noble, cold blooded politician. Prestan is entangled at the moment in intrigues of her mother and naiad nobles, and prepares to secretely leave the court in disguise...
My mind keeps buzzing with ideas (Sorry if i broke any canons)
I wish I could find more people on DA who like making fantasy worlds. I've been making one for a few years (though I'm way too scared of posting it online).
Anyways, I noticed that most location names are very literal(for lack of a better word). Locations are named "Gnome State" or "Dryad Imperium" instead of made up words.
This isn't bad, I'm just curious as to why it's like that.
I'll be naming their cities and stuff eventually, for now it's just place holder region names
Thank you by the way!
It´s great to get a good sense of the geography, though I have to ask, is the Garuda lands like a huge mangrove swamp or is their solid ground?
Love all the names btw also I think Four Realms is a good name for this world. I say go for that!
The Garuda specifically live in the areas around the roots, often populated with floating markets, while the Dryads live in the upper canopies of the mangrove
Thank you Maiki!
But something about the portion beetwen the Singing Delta, Voyager's Bay and the Silver Cliffs just doesn't sit right with me. It might just that i can't see it the right way, but it looks to me like either the Voyager's Bay is at a higher altitude that the ocean of Cycles(which isn't possible unless there's a huge waterfall beetween the two) OR those two little river braches are ...climbing? towards the Silver Cliffs. It's probably just me, but you please be as kind as to explain what's going on over there? If you want to of course
Also i can't say just how much i like this You're damn awesome girl, and all of your art is
I promise I'll do environment drawings eventually that will illustrate these areas better!
Thank you though!
