So I don't mean to be so sober, but I know a lot of you learn from my personal ramblings, so I'm going to take the jump and talk about it.
I am very very serious about not shipping Endlye with Elliel. I know you guys have no idea how the progression of their story works and might not understand why I'm being so serious about it, so I'm telling you now. Their relationship is terrifying and nothing short of a predator and victim. There is no "cute socially awkward /serial killer/ who doesn't know how to show her affections" about it. Endlye is a homicidal maniac and she is purposefully overstepping bounds to exert power over someone. There is a violent and sexual way that Endlye pursues her. Elliel is a hypersexual character but that doesn't make any of the advances on her okay. Even hypersexual people have their boundaries, and I am deliberately portraying her boundaries as being crossed. Nothing about this should be romanticized.
Please feel free to like Endlye. I want people to like my characters, but please understand it's okay to like villains as fictional characters without forgiving them or diminishing or romanticizing the bad things they do.
The reason I am so vehement about this is because I have struggled for a long time with writing a story that includes sexual assault as a theme. I have attempted with other stories but due to personal struggles, could not actually do it. Strangely, my muse decided that this story would be the one. I know I've needed to write about it for a long long time, to show my experiences in a fictional way so that I may one day stop being scared of it. I have been the victim of an obviously less exaggerated situation, and I feel that, if we as a society didn't romanticize aggressive behavior and power dominance in relationships that haven't been previously agreed/consented to, I would not have stayed so long in the multiple relationships that ended up hurting me. So please, do not in any way try to make this romantic or "cute."
